To the right and below are photos taken at the Indoor Market Hall (Vásárcsarnok), a covered market in the heart of Budapest.  This market houses numerous stands selling fruit, vegetables, meat, Hungarian paprika, breads and other baked goods, plus an Asian market and booths selling folk art, toys, linens, leather goods and other finds.

This and the following photos were taken in the Castle District of Budapest on Aug. 20, 2010, one of Hungary's national holidays.  Craftsmen and artists from around the country set up booths, displayed their wares, and demonstrated how to make them.

It takes a steady hand to decorate those gingerbread cookies.  Some
of them have very intricate patterns.

The holiday ended with a spectacular fireworks display over the Duna.
