February 2010

Sister Wade with her new companion, Sister Harris - Feb. 2010.
We were sad to bid an early farewell to Sister Marshall.  Sister Harris quickly responded to the call to serve with Sister Wade in the Center for Young Adults.

A joyous occasion in Sopron - the baptism of the Édés family!
Elders Hintze and Nichols participated.

In February President and Sister Baughman were privileged to attend an event in Budapest where the church's Humanitarian Dept. presented some 250 wheelchairs to disabled people.  Brother Colton from Germany represented the church and presented the wheelchairs.  A member of Parliament and a representative from the American Embassy were in attendance.  TV cameras and other media covered the event.  It was touching to see the disabled come forward and receive their new, custom-made wheelchairs.  Some of our missionaries also attended the event and helped the people get their new wheelchairs to their cars.  The church does not allow proselyting at these events.  They are simply acts of Christian service.

We were entertained by a wheelchair dance ensemble.  They were wonderful!

Somlai Csaba, one of our members from Érd, also participated on the program.
